A light commercial project that provides a flexible multifunctional space whilst retaining a comfortable, ambient and relational user experience.
We were contacted by the leaders of Edge Church West to deliver an open-plan multifunctional space as the Church responded to increased numbers of attendance.
Although light commercial in nature and scale, the church extension retains a sense of human connection with a mix of texture and materials. The floor plan is flexible and can be both seperate and sensitive to noise or open-plan, merging easily with the established cafe area with the help of large stacker internal cafe doors.
The raked ceiling with feature wooden cedar batons beautifully flows from the external eaves to the internal area and welcomes Church members and guests invitingly. Complimenting the feature ceiling, the polished concrete floor promotes a sense of warmth and comfort to a large modern space.
Commercial grade external sliding windows and doors allow for an alfresco setting in the warmer months making it an enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing place to congregate throughout the year.
Finished and furnished, the building extension brings a certain wow factor to Church.
